PINOT GRIGIO IGT - TERRE SICILIANE

Organic – Non GMO – Vegan

We harvest our Pinot Grigio grapes around the middle of August in the hilly vineyards surrounding the Mediterranean sea, located on the sunny island of Sicily on beautiful soil with a mix of limestone and white chalk.

The grapes are fermented at low temperature in stainless steel tanks for a long period to preserve the complexity of the aromas. It is plump and juicy, zesty with tangy avors of Meyer lemon, Honeycrisp apple, pickled ginger and white stone. A delicious Pinot Grigio, a little more rich and full than the same wines produced in the North Italy.

Bottled and labeled with bio-safe materials. Featuring the new Helix™ re-usable cork seal.

THE SOUTHERN PINOT

Pinot Grigio from Sicily

In Sicily, lots of winemakers avoid the use of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and herbicides merely because they cannot afford them.
The dry and warm climate of southern Italy allows for good grapes every year even without the use of chemicals.  Widespread, environmental,  Sicilian viticulture sustainability is given by the unsustainable economic and market environment in a region where the best whites were manufactured. For these reasons, we have decided to produce our Pinot Grigio. An  Italian white grape varietal most requested abroad. We met winemakers from Sicily to restore dignity to their hard work by targeting their extraordinary wines in our ZIOBAFFA project as an ambassador of the Italian winery. That’s where our Pinot Grigio was born.
